A is for Art
A is for Art
15th Anniversary
A is for Art, a program of the SDSU Children's Center, showcases the amazing potential for creative expression by children between 6 months to 5 years of age. Each year, A is for Art events are held to raise awareness, and funds, to promote art education at the Children’s Center. Each classroom selects an artist living and working in the United States to study and then uses that artist's painting techniques and style to create their own collaborative masterpiece.
To celebrate A is for Art’s 15th Anniversary, we will be hosting two events, the Exhibition and the Finale at the Open House!
The A is for Art Exhibition, an adult-only event, is open to the public on March 2, at the Southwestern Yacht Club. For a small donation of $10, you can enjoy appetizers, beer, wine, and participate in the live auction of children’s art and opportunity basket drawings. This year, one of the baskets includes two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines!
The Finale at the Open House event on March 23 is for all Children’s Center families, staff, alumni, and friends. This event is great for the whole family. There will be children’s artwork on display, snacks, activities for the entire family and opportunity drawings for the adults. Also, there will be a very special art activity. Everyone in attendance will be able to paint on a very large canvas. The finished painting will then be available in a live auction at the end of the event.
Please join us for these amazing events. For more information about A is for Art and the SDSU Children’s Center visit, childcare.sdsu.edu/aisforart.
