We are getting ready to soak up the sun and dive into an ocean of activities! We will also be featuring SHAKE SHACK and SHAKE Smart smoothies! Gluten free and vegan options will be available. Welcome to First Night Fest — a night packed with fun and a fantastic way to connect with fellow students, whether you're meeting for the first time or catching up after a while! As we kick off your journey at SDSU, we're all about creating lasting memories and new friendships! When you arrive, you'll dive right into our gaming area, where lawn games await you. These games are all about teamwork and collaboration, so get ready to join in and have a blast. After that, you can get a caricature drawing of yourself or with a friend, let your imagination run wild with balloon art, or capture some fun moments with friends at the photo booth. And let’s not forget the best part—FREE FOOD! Choose from Woodstock's Pizza, Churros, or Big Squeeze Hot Dogs, and enjoy some tasty treats while you’re here. If you need a break from all the action, hit the dance floor and groove to the beats spun by our DJ. To add a little extra fun, join in on human bingo. You could win an Aztec Nights key holder and wristlet, which are perfect for keeping track of your ID cards and reminding you of this incredible night. Returning students! Level up and start the semester right by joining us for a Retro Arcade Night in the Union Courtyard on Friday, August 23rd from 9pm-1am! Battle your friends in a friendly competition of throwback games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros and, air hockey. Enjoy classic arcade food like nachos and cookies. And you’ll definitely want to dance the night away with an after-hours set from your favorite student DJs!

Celebrate “America’s Finest City” at Taste of San Diego where you can sample some local flavors, make your own custom SDSU swag and explore the city via an 18 hole mini golf course. Be sure to check out the main stage featuring performances from SDSU and local talent. Stay up late with us to test your SDSU and San Diego trivia knowledge and win special San Diego prizes!

Inspired by the Wanderlust festival that takes place nationwide, we are creating a wellness event that goes beyond just the body, to include the mind and soul. Through sound baths, astrology readings, guided meditation and more students can explore different elements of wellness and make a plan for their own self-care journeys. While some activities will be higher intensity, like the yoga sculpt class, there will also be space in the “Zen Den” for students to relax and experience various vendors who care for the mind, body, and soul. Additionally, there will also be astrology readings, DIY activities centered around holistic health, and tables with unique foods.

Just like Kris Kross’ll make you JUMP JUMP from the early 90’s, the ARC will make students JUMP JUMP into the school year. The DJ will pump up the volume by playing music styles popularized in the 90’s throughout the venue. Students will have space to pick up some 90’s action movie moves in our Boxing Fitness activities. Our featured activity will be inflatable archery tag, think robin hood meets paintball! The gymnasium will be jumping with inflatable activities like the colorful obstacle course, human foosball, 3D Twister, Axe Throwing Game, and more. In order to keep minds and bodies right for the night we will feature Shakesmart wraps, acai bowls, and of course shakes!
