Each year A is for Art events are held to raise awareness and funds to promote art education at the Children’s Center. 15 Questions
Ryan DeLong
- What is your name and job title?
Ryan DeLong – Associate Director, Operations - Viejas Arena and Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre - Which A.S. department do you work in?
Viejas Arena. Our amazing team ensures both venues look and function at their best so that we can continue to provide an unforgettable experience for all. - How long have you worked for A.S.?
This is a 3-part answer:
In my current role a little over 1 year
With A.S. 9 years (including a couple years as a student)
My entire time working on SDSU campus…13+ years - If you won $5 million what would you do with it?
Invest wisely
Take care of all my family
Donate to causes I am passionate about - What is your favorite dessert?
Cheesecake. I love how many different types and toppings there are with cheesecakes. - Which three people (living or dead) you would like to have dinner with?
My dad. He’s one of my role models. We would have a good laugh over a couple adult soda pops with dinner and I don’t get to do that nearly as often as I would like. Hopefully he would bring mom too ;)
Anthony Bourdain. I loved his passion for exposing travel and food throughout different countries in an off the beaten path type of way. Plus he would obviously pick the best spot for us to have dinner.
The Rock! Because Dwayne Johnson can do no wrong and would make any dinner much more enjoyable. - What city would you most like to visit or visit again?
Bali. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and we found it to be the most peaceful, beautiful place we’ve ever been. We hope to take our baby boy, Hayden, there one day. - If you had one free hour each day, how would you use it?
At this time in my life, SLEEP! I have a 6 month old at home. - Would you rather build a sandcastle or a snowman?
Sandcastle. I prefer to live near the ocean and visit the snow. - What do you want to be when you grow up?
This hasn’t changed since I was in elementary school and never will…a professional baseball player. Anybody know any MLB scouts? - What three things are always in your refrigerator?
Carbonated water: nothing is better than the first sip once you crack it open. Burns so good, it brings a tear to my eye.
Cheese of any kind: because almost everything is better with cheese on it.
Peanut Butter: I don’t necessarily like my peanut butter cold but I had to include PB because it is my go to. I mean literally could eat it by the spoonful. - “Most people don’t know that…”
“…although I grew up in the Bay Area, I was actually born in Lexington, Kentucky and lived there until I was in the third grade.” - Who is your favorite actor or actress?
Jason Bateman. I appreciate his witty responses and dry humor that he brings to each role. - If you could be any color in a box of Crayola Crayons, what color would you be?
Yellow. I equate that with sunshine and my mood/well-being is heavily influenced by whether it is sunny outside or not. - What do you like most about working for A.S.?
As having been both a student and an employee, I truly appreciate the dedication A.S. makes to our SDSU students each day. I am also thankful for the family like atmosphere that has been created across the organization. That is rare to find.
