Happy Holidays! I once again cannot believe we are at the holiday season already! I want to thank you for another amazing year of compassion, collaboration, and action in all the work that you do. As I reflect on the past 10 years that I have been with Associated Students, I am so proud to be a part of an organization where our staff and student teams work so hard towards the A.S. mission each day which ultimately is to support student success. As we know, one of the best parts of our jobs is to watch our students in their lives after SDSU. I am grateful to each and every one of you for the impact you make on our students' lives and for choosing to make A.S. a part of your family!
This holiday season, my wish for you is that you spend time relaxing and enjoying moments with friends and family.
With cheer and much gratitude,
At the Aztec Student Union, students will be able to find both quiet and group study space during finals week. During normal building hours, 7:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., the Student Union will make meeting rooms available for studying December 12-18. In addition, the Student Lounge (located on the 1st floor of the Student Union) will be open until 2:00 a.m. during the week of finals and will offer snacks and drinks periodically throughout the day. The additional services are provided by the Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB) Operations Committee.
The holidays are all about giving, so how about giving a little of your time to help our fellow San Diegans who are in need. Here are just a few volunteer opportunities:
The Food Bank relies on individuals and volunteer groups to help them in their warehouse, at food distribution sites and at Food Bank events. You may volunteer one time, or on a regular basis. Opportunities include:
You can sign up to make DIY pet toys, then drop them off to help the animals have a more enriched experience this holiday season. Compassionate, dedicated volunteers are essential to their programs and services organization wide and it is important to them that volunteering be a meaningful experience for everyone who participates. The Humane Society also has many other opportunities including:
Volunteers are critical to the Villages’ success. With your help they can give our neighbors in need a new start. They accept all types of volunteers and volunteer groups — individuals, families, children over 10 years old, religious organizations, community groups, military groups, corporations, local businesses and more. The Villages has a wide variety of opportunities, including:
Jamie McNally, Event Coordinator
Viejas Arena. I plan and coordinate the concerts, basketball games and other events we have here at the Arena.
It will be 6 years in January…time flies!
My wife and I are huge “Breaking Bad” fans and just watched “El Camino.” Thumbs up, I thought they did a great job with it!
Remodel our house, travel, invest and donate to Special Olympics and Noah Homes.
I like ALL desserts but my favorite is probably yellow cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles on top. Yum!
Ellen DeGeneres because she is my favorite.
Jennifer Aniston because I just want to be in the same room as her!
Justin Timberlake because he is so talented and I would hope there would be a dance party after the dinner.
Next spot on the list is Positano, Italy. I could live off of wine, cheese and pizza – hence why I want to go back to Italy!
Bike to the beach and enjoy a cup of coffee with breakfast.
Negative, not a big chef in the kitchen. I can make the basics but I prefer a nice dinner out. I am a big foodie and love trying new restaurants in town.
Maple bar donut.
...golf. I try to golf as much as I can!”
I’ve had a zoo membership for years and right now my favorite animal that I love seeing is the baby orangutan. He is the cutest and I could watch him for hours!
