Mental Health Week is dedicated to bringing the conversation about mental health to campus. Mental Health affects all of us in our daily lives, and these events are meant to destigmatize mental health. Come learn about the resources that SDSU already offers and help join in learning what else can be done.

April 15 Monday

Mental Health Week Kick Off

Kick off Mental Health Week with us! Learn about the programs and events that will be held throughout the week. We will be addressing mental health topics such as anxiety, depression and stress. Join us as we work together to learn more and improve our mental health.

Yoga for Everyone

Templo Mayor, Aztec Student Union

Yoga has been shown to have positive benefits for overall mental health. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga, we welcome you to come practice and replenish your mind and body.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Take a moment for yourself and experience the benefits of meditation. Practice will be guided by the Delta Beta Tau co-ed service fraternity.

Mental Health Expo

SDSU is coming together to showcase all of the programs and services offered to help students manage their mental health. Everything from student organizations, to campus departments and even Baxter, SDSU’s famous therapy dog, will be present for you to learn about the services and resources on campus.

A.S. Your Voice Matters Open Forum: Mental Health

Representatives from different areas on campus, including Counseling & Psychological Services and the Economic Crisis Response Team, will be discussing mental health and resources supporting mental health, on our campus.

Alcohol & Other Drugs Panel

A conversation about substance abuse, including alcohol and other drugs, with SDSU’s Coordinator of AOD Initiatives, and other guests. Come learn important information and testimonies related to substance abuse.

Mental Health Matters

Theater, Aztec Student Union

There's no shame in taking care of your mental health. Join us for Mental Health Matters, an open discussion lead by two local mental health experts. Dr. Abi Weissman, chairwoman and founder of Waves, A Psychological Corporation, will be talking about pertinent topics that affect LGBTQQI communities, specifically Trans* individuals. We will also be joined by Dr. Janina Scarlet from the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management. Dr. Scarlet will be speaking on managing stress and depression through mindfulness and meditation techniques, as well as compassion and self-compassion.

SDSU Homecoming Royals Present: Self Care

Your 2018 Homecoming Royals are bringing you a safe space to serve yourself. Come and practice self-care by creating your own mental health kits, take home guides, and learning about the V.A.R. method of addressing mental health conditions so you can help yourself and others.
