Accounts Receivable Technician

Full-Time, Non Exempt

The Accounts Receivable Technician prepares difficult clerical work necessary to maintain corporate financial operations and records, prepares routine financial reports, supervises staff as directed and performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Collects and compiles data; prepares statements, reports and analysis
  • Codes and inputs daily transactions, including checks, deposits and billings
  • Distributes billing and aged trial balance reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintains subsidiary ledgers and checks and reconciles accounts in a timely manner
  • Ensures that subsidiary ledgers external to the accounting system are reconciled to the general ledger
  • Collects and supervises collection of past-due receivable accounts
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Monitors certificate of deposit accounts to ensure all interest earned received in a timely manner
  • Updates/prints Childcare Food Program Worksheet
  • Verifies Childcare Contract Amounts
  • Responds to questions from account advisors, other staff, vendors and customers on balance of accounts and other routine information
  • Provides information and training for Daily Aztec Accounts Receivable Clerk on billing and collections policies and procedures
  • Enters daily deposits and deposit summaries, billing requests and journal entries
  • Generates monthly standard bills
  • Additional responsibilities include administration, customer service & collaboration, safety and staff management.

Minimum Education, Experience & Certification

  • High school Diploma
  • Two years of experience in keeping or reviewing financial or statistical records, including general ledger
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Range: $40,000 – $45,000 per year, Non-Exempt


This is a regular, full-time position with expected hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

This position requires the individual to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. This person will also spend time filing and have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time, including banker boxes and files.
