I. CALL TO ORDER

Chief Justice Shaye Phung called the meeting to order at 8:01 a.m.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

Chief Justice Shaye Phung reported on the following:

  1. Presented to the A.S. University Council and A.S. Campus Life Council regarding an introduction to the Judicial Affairs Council and the three requirements that all members must complete before the deadline of 11/20.
  2. A.S. Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee Update - The Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, September 25 to fill the two Justice positions.

VII. MEMBERS REPORTS

  1. JAC Role Updates
    1. Sagel reported that she updated the requirement form to enable three requirements completed at the same time. Janice will send the updated requirements form to the Justices.
  2. Buddy Update - None.
  3. University Senate Committee Update - None.

VIII. INFORMATION

  1. Bylaw Amendment Update
    Janice provided an update regarding the bylaw amendment process in which amendments should be sustainable for at least 3-5 years before any changes are considered.
  2. Attendance - Shaye reviewed the attendance.
  3. Individualized Substitution Plans (ISPs)
    There was one ISP submitted for Mohamed Erekat, A.S. Board of Director, for coming to BOD and University Council late due to class. Mohamed’s ISP will be voted on at next week’s meeting.

  1. Bylaw Amendment Deadline
    It was moved and seconded to approve October 14, 2024 as the deadline for bylaw amendments.

    1. It was moved and seconded to table Billie Butler’s (CCP) REAF indefinitely for missing 8/28 All Council as College Council Presidents do not have to attend.
