Wednesday, March 19, 2014 – 9:00 am

Council Chambers • Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Chief Justice Sean Guardian called the meeting to order at 9:03 am in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

A. Voting Members Present: Sean Guardian, Kiana Caton, Alex Johnstone, Abby Kim, Maneet Deol, Dillon McLean.

B. Voting Members Absent: None.

C. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.

D. Non-Voting Members Absent: Lee Mintz.

E. Visitors Present: None.

III. MODIFICATION OF AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to modify the agenda by adding Duties Deadline as an Action item and then approve the agenda for today’s meeting.

IV. PUBLIC COMMENT:

None.

V. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from the 3/12/14 meeting, as attached.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

A. Sean had no update on getting access to the video.

VII. INFORMATION:

A. The Council reviewed the second half of a grievance filed, as attached. It was discussed and the justices noted points that needed clarification. Follow-up was discussed. A decision will be made next week.

B. Bylaw amendments and the timeline for these submitted amendments were discussed.

C. The Attendance and Duties Report was reviewed. The Council noted which members they would like to invite to next week’s meeting.

VIII. ACTION

A. Appointments and Resignations: It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations memo with the addition of Jessica Valvo as the new Justice, as attached.

B. Requests for Excused Absences: It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Katelynne Willis for missing the ASUC meeting on 3/14/2014, copy attached.

C. Elections Committee Minutes, 3/14/14: It was moved and seconded to approve the Elections Committee minutes dated 3/14/14, as attached.

D. Duties Deadline: It was moved and seconded to extend the deadline to complete member duties to April 11 at 4:30 pm.
