I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President Kareen Holstrom called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.

VI. PRESENTATIONS AND UNIVERSITY REPORTS 

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee, Dr. Caryl Montero-Adams reported on the following: 
    The team is currently planning for the upcoming spring break period. We hope that all members take this opportunity to rest and recharge. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you need anything in the meantime. Additionally, we would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to Aliza and Jasmin for their outstanding achievement in the Quest for the Best.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Milan Rawls, Executive Vice President, reported on the following: No report.
  2. Kareen Holstrom, A.S. President:Acknowledgment extended to those who attended the accreditation meeting. The election announcement will take place at 9:00 PM in the Union; members are reminded to encourage their networks to vote in the AS Elections. 
    The University Senate is in the process of updating its AI language policy. Three resolutions are under consideration, members are invited to submit questions. A spring break well-wishes were extended to all.
  3. Aliza Siddiqui, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs:Travel funding is being reviewed with a proposal to increase the current $1,500 allocation. Finance workshops are scheduled for April. Cultural organization presentations will conclude after spring break; organizations seeking cultural org funding for the upcoming year should take note of deadlines.
  4. Abby McLachlan, A.S. Vice President of External Relations:Returned from CHESS with 20 students in attendance. The delegation met with the Secretary of Labor and SDSU alumni. ERB passed three bill positions, which will be forwarded to the San Diego delegation.
  5. Nadia Gallarzo, A.S. Vice President of University Relations: Academic Affairs will be hosting an open house on the 7th, where each area will have a table to promote executive positions. Note that elections run separately from the open house, those interested in getting involved are encouraged to attend. 
    The University Affairs Board has received all YVM responses and is in the process of categorizing the data. 
    Members are reminded to review the three resolutions currently under consideration.
  6. Christina Brown, Executive Director: No report.
  7. Brian Levett, Government Affairs Assistant Director:Members should have received an email regarding Aztec Achievement Awards, please RSVP accordingly. Safe spring break wishes were extended to all.
  8. Payton Scott, CLC Student-At-Large, reported on the following:No report.
  9. Misha Yohannes, CLC Student-At-Large, reported on the following: No report.
  10. Julia Biesman, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following: No report.
  11. Jasmin Zeis-Khalil, ASBOD Student-At-Large,reported on the following:Efforts are underway regarding the SWANA/MENA Center, including presenting collected data to councils, with requests to be added to the April 8th and 14th meeting agendas. Tabling events are planned for organizations involved in human rights and housing communities. Members are encouraged to attend accreditation meetings to advocate for spaces at risk of losing funding; Triple A was highlighted as an effective advocacy resource.
  12. Ava Alvarado, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following:A Bill of Rights is forthcoming.
  13. Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following: With 24 events completed, 8 events remain for the semester. 
    Upcoming events include Monday Night Movies featuring *Sinners* on April 6th, with doors opening at 6:00 PM, and SDSU Night Live, a late-night skit comedy show in the style of Jimmy Fallon, on Wednesday, April 8th.
  14. Campus Community Commission reported on the following:No report.
  15. Community Service Commission reported on the following: The Service Fair was a success. A collaboration with the Glazer Center is underway for the Get Back on Track Week initiative.
  16. Student Support Commission reported on the following:
    A presentation was given in recognition of Disability Celebration Month. Members also toured the Commuter Resource Center and reviewed available student services.
  17. Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following: 
    No report.
  18. Student Diversity Commission reported on the following: 
    Walkarounds were completed at the HillelCenter, Women's Resource Center, and Pride Center. 
    DEI survey edits are in progress; feedback is being sought ahead of implementation.
  19. Sustainability/Green Love Commission reported on the following:
    The Swap Shop saw 200 items exchanged; remaining clothing will be donated to homeless shelters. 
    EBT will be accepted at the Pavilion beginning in Fall. A Sustainability Summit is forthcoming, and the Transportation Survey is currently being promoted.
  20. Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following:
    Vote-A-Palooza took place Monday in the Union, featuring smoothies, bagels, and stickers. 
    A Group Fitness vlog is planned after spring break to highlight ARC classes, those interested should reach out to the commission representative.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  1. The College Council Open House will be held on April 7th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the Union Courtyard.
  2. Rock the Vote – Ballots & Barbecue:Date is to be announced; the event may include An's Dry Cleaning. Additionally, a Rock the Vote event is scheduled for Monday, April 27th from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
