I. CALL TO ORDER
A.S. Executive Vice President Milan Rawls called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL

V. PUBLIC COMMENT:
- The first public comment was made by a student offering graduation photoshoots, which will be available from late March through May 2026.
The second public comment introduced an event called “Dateflo,” a date-style game show that is open to anyone and scheduled to begin on March 21.
The third public comment was a student proposal to introduce locker resources for commuter students, similar to a system currently used at UCSD, to better support commuter student needs.

IX. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Milan Rawls, Executive Vice President, reported on the following:
Greenfest was recognized as a successful event that extended beyond the concert itself.
A reminder was shared that Aztec Achievement Award nominations are closing soon, with approximately 115 applications currently submitted, and students applying for council positions were advised to secure their required letter of recommendation ahead of the deadline.
An update was provided on the Campus Commission Risk Management Plan, which is approximately 80% complete in its draft stage.
Additionally, campus accessibility efforts were discussed following a public comment previously given by a student regarding accessibility concerns. - Kareen Holstrom, A.S. President:
Recognition was given to the success of Greenfest.
It was also announced that the letter to the Chamber of Commerce was approved and would be sent shortly as part of our advocacy efforts.
Aztec Shops shared information regarding a proposed second-year meal plan with an opt-out option and welcomed any feedback from students.
Members were encouraged to stay engaged as three resolutions moved forward.
An update was provided that the APA resolution is progressing through the Senate as language is being formalized. - Aliza Siddiqui, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs:
Students were encouraged to submit updates regarding study abroad applications to better support those pursuing study abroad opportunities.
Financial workshops were highlighted as resources available to help tailor support to specific student demographics.
Additionally, cultural organizations seeking funding were advised to schedule presentations with Aliza and arrange meetings for the upcoming year. - Abby McLachlan, A.S. Vice President of External Relations:
An update was shared regarding travel to Sacramento to advocate for housing initiatives.
Attendance at CHESS was also noted, where discussions will focus on the budget and four proposed bills.
The Vice President of Systemwide Affairs is continuing to work on consultation advocacy, while the External Relations Board is currently reviewing the immigration policy resolution.
Lastly, upcoming heritage months were highlighted, and students were encouraged to attend related events. - Nadia Gallarzo, A.S. Vice President of University Relations:
Updates on the resolutions in the University Council. The resolution upholding student governance in any future fees will have a second reading next week, while the Student Diversity commission resolution received its first reading. Members were encouraged to provide feedback as these items returned to College Council meetings.
At the Academic Affairs committee meeting held today, discussions focused on the resolutions and how colleges can share them within their respective councils.
Additionally, during Your Voice Matters Push Week, approximately 120 responses were collected and are currently being reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate councils, committees, and commissions. - Christina Brown, Executive Director:
Gratitude was expressed to students and members as the semester approached its conclusion, recognizing everyone’s efforts and offering support to those who may need guidance.
A reminder was given about the upcoming elections and all are encouraged to participate.
It was also announced that the women’s basketball coach, Stacie Terry-Hutson, was named Mountain West Coach of the Year.
Additionally, the men’s basketball team will begin competition in Las Vegas tomorrow, and members were encouraged to stay tuned for updates. - Brian Levett, Government Affairs Assistant Director:

Interested in starting discussions regarding Quizlet Plus. - Julia Biesman, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following:
Savanna Shirman recontacted the team regarding Edible SDSU to update current information on edible food initiatives on campus and explore its connection to Aztec culture.
Additionally, updating the A.S. The registered Student Organization Handbook was noted as an ongoing initiative. - Jasmin Zeis-Khalil, ASBOD Student-At-Large,reported on the following:
Discussion focused on analyzing data from the SWANA/MENA survey to better understand community needs.
Members were encouraged to review relevant resolutions and provide support where needed. - Ava Alvarado, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following:
The Student Bill of Rights resolution has been passed and will be forwarded to the Board of Directors.
The letter in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce is still in progress. - Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following:
An announcement was made for Games Around the Globe, scheduled from 6–8 PM this evening.
An Open Mic Night will also take place later next week.
Additionally, Cooking with Chefs is scheduled for March 24.
Appreciation was expressed to all volunteers who supported the success of Greenfest. - Campus Community Commission reported on the following:
A collaboration was announced to provide Narcan training and improve student access to health resources prior to spring break.
Additionally, efforts are underway to develop a Safe Ride program to enhance student safety and transportation options. - Community Service Commission reported on the following:
The Service Fair is scheduled for tomorrow, featuring 14 organizations discussing service opportunities. The event will take place in the Union from 12:00–2:00 PM. - Student Support Commission reported on the following:
On the 11th, a visit was made to the Commuter Resource Center. The center’s 15th anniversary will be celebrated soon in collaboration with the Templor Mayor.
Additionally, students submitted a Your voice Matters initiative focused on supporting commuter students. - Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following:
An update was provided that Mending Minds has been running successfully. Additionally, the Shamrocks event is scheduled for this Friday. - Student Diversity Commission reported on the following:
Today, the Student Service commission was held at the Women’s Resource Center.
A final read-through was conducted for the Palestine resolution, and all resource centers participated in scheduled walkarounds. - Sustainability/Green Love Commission reported on the following:
Greenfest was noted as a successful event.
A large upcoming event, the Swap Shop, is scheduled for next Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and volunteers are welcome. Clothing donations are being accepted at the Aquaplex, the ARC, and Scripps. - Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following:
An event, Vote-a- Pollooza, is scheduled from the 23rd to the 26th and will feature free food.
Additionally, it was noted that the organization’s Instagram account has gained 120 new followers.
X. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Julia: Announced tabling for the Bone Marrow and Plasma Donation Center on March 19 from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM to support those in need. Additionally, the ASL Club will host a comedy show on March 16 at Montezuma Hall, open to students.
- Jasmin: Highlighted the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, noting airport closures, and encouraged outreach to those affected during this critical time.
- Angie: Shared that the Monarch Resource Center will host Talk It Out and a creative activity this Friday for students impacted by current events or wishing to provide support. She also noted that the DECA backlog has extended renewal processing to 5–6 months and advised students to visit the center for updated information if needed.
