Accessible Services

The Viejas Arena staff strive to provide excellent customer service for each of our guests, including guests with special needs and disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990 - ADA). We make every effort to comply with both the ADA and California accessibility mandates. The following is a highlight of the services we provide:

ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES

Assistive Listening Devices are available, with a picture ID as a deposit, at Guest Services located at Gate 2 (Main Entrance.) This is a complimentary service.

COMPANION SEATING

Ticketmaster will sell one companion seat with each guest in a wheelchair. You may be able to purchase more companion seats, pending availability, by calling the Viejas Arena ADA Seating Coordinator, June Barreras, at 619.594.5085.

DROP OFF ZONE

Just off of 55th Street on the west side of the arena is a drop off area.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION

Viejas Arena personnel have been trained in emergency evacuation procedures to ensure the safe evacuation of all of our guests, including our guests with disabilities, in the case of an emergency. Please pay careful attention to ushers and security personnel for instructions during an evacuation.

ELEVATOR

The elevator is located just inside Door 7 at the top of Section R. This elevator is for use by our guests with disabilities, their companions, and credentialed guests only. Guests must have tickets for seats located on or near the arena floor.

ESCORTS

Viejas Arena provides personnel who will escort you and your companion to your seat. This service is provided at our pass gate at Gate 2.

FACILITY

All restrooms, drinking fountains and fixed concessions stands at Viejas Arena are accessible.

FIRST AID

First Aid is located on the first floor (arena floor level) adjacent to the passenger elevator. A family restroom is available in First Aid. For most events, paramedics are on-site.

PARKING

Accessible parking for Viejas Arena is available in the following areas:

  • Lot K
  • Parking Structure 4
  • Parking Structure 5

* Lot L is a private parking lot and is not open to the general public on event days.

Guests must have a state issued disability-parking hangtag or license plate to park in the disabled parking spaces.

SERVICE ANIMALS / GUIDE DOGS

Service Animals are welcome to Viejas Arena and will rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle.

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

Viejas Arena is pleased to arrange for sign language interpreter services, for public events, given three weeks notice. Please contact our ADA Seating Coordinator, June Barreras, at 619.594.5085. Interpreter services are not guaranteed for every event; however, we will make every effort to accommodate each request.

TICKETS

When purchasing tickets, please clarify that you are seeking to purchase accessible/disabled seats so that you are best served.

Pending the event configuration, wheelchair seating and limited mobility seats are located throughout the arena. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster or the Viejas Arena Box Office. The Viejas Arena Box Office, located adjacent to Gate 2 on the southwest side of the arena has two wheelchair accessible ticket windows and is a Ticketmaster outlet.

  • Concerts: The arena floor is configured for either general admission seating (open floor) or reserved seating. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Wheelchair seating is also available in Row 36 in designated sections.
  • Basketball Games: Seating for our disabled guests is available on the arena floor and in Row 36. A wheel chair and companion seat is available at the bottom of Section L for student seating. All disabled seats are sold on a first come-first served basis. The student disabled seat on the arena floor will be available for pickup on a first come-first served basis until the doors open on game day.

Guests with either a hearing or visual impairment should contact the Viejas Arena ADA Seating Coordinator, June Barreras at 619.594.5085. A limited number of seats are available in these areas and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Viejas Arena will exchange tickets, if available, in order to accommodate a guest with a disability. Please contact our ADA Seating Coordinator, June Barreras at 619.594.5085.

Unsold seats in these areas will be released for general sale two weeks prior to the event date unless ticket sales dictate otherwise.

WHEELCHAIRS

Courtesy wheelchairs are provided at Gate 2, Customer Service, for guests requiring assistance to and from their seats. The wheelchairs are used for transporting guests only, not for seating during an event and cannot be taken outside of the venue.

If you have your own wheelchair and would like to transfer into a seat, we can store your wheelchair for you during the event. Our staff will make arrangements to return your wheelchair to you at the conclusion of the event or as requested.
