Executive Council Members

Another Semester Complete

The Fall 2007 semester just flew by but not before we were able to start a lot of great things. The Executive Officers were instrumental in the following:

  • Educating their fellow SDSU students about how to be good neighbors and how to avoid being fined for violations. The students started a grassroots campaign that proved very successful.
  • In collaboration with the University, the Council supported the Campus Master Plan. James Poet, the AS President led a group of students to the Board of Trustees meeting to speak on behalf of the matter and it was passed by the Board.
  • AS, led by Justin Motika, is taking a closer look at the issue of sustainability. This movement called “AS Green Love” is looking at ways to educate students about sustainability and reward SDSU students for doing things to increase sustainability on campus. A full-fledge campaign will be unveiled in the spring
  • The Officers are also examining the possibility of holding a referendum that would allow AS to host more programming for SDSU students and the AS Council also hopes to approve a new AS logo in the spring semester.

There are many exciting things happening at Associated Students. 2007 was a special year for us and 2008 promises to be another successful year!

The holiday season fills the rarified air at SDSU.  We even got a little rain!  The AS Council and executive officers have had a highly successful fall semester…a good launching point for keeping their goals in sight for what promises to be a busy spring 2008 semester.

On behalf of the AS student team and staff leadership team, we wish you and your family the most joyous of holiday seasons!
