A. Global AIDS Week of Action – Blanca Chiu: Blanca encouraged everyone to spread
the word regarding this event. She passed out flyers for discounts at L&L Hawaiian BBQ and asked everyone to participate.
B. Andres Bonifacio Samahan – Jhoselle Padilla: Jhoselle invited everyone to AB Samahan’s 23rd Annual Filipino Cultural Night: More Than Words. Please reserve your ticket by emailing Jhoselle.
C. College of PSFA – Assistant Dean Randi McKenzie: Assistant Dean McKenzie presented a trophy to the College of Business congratulating them for winning the bowling tournament against the College of PSFA.
SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS:
A. Dr. Stephen L. Weber, President of San Diego State University: President Weber
B. SDSU Commencement Update – Jennifer Turner-Minotti, Commencement Planning Committee Chair: Jennifer updated the Council on various topics regarding commencement including budget, planning, ceremony schedules, etc. She also answered questions from Council members and guests in the gallery.
C. Fulbright Presentation – Dr. Patricia Huckle, Director of Fulbright Scholarships at SDSU: Dr. Huckle presented information regarding how to apply for the Fulbright Scholarship and encouraged all students to get involved and apply for this wonderful opportunity.

XI. EXECUTIVE REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
A. President: James reported on the following:
1. James attended the Conference on Student Government Associations from Saturday through
Tuesday in Texas.
2. James met with Sports Club representatives this last week.
3. He is also encouraging you to attend the Student Research Symposium this coming Friday
and Saturday.
4. Campus Fee Advisory Committee is this coming Friday at 2:00pm.
5. Please attend the Brown Bag Lunch Series sponsored by the SDSU Police Department.
6. Please make the referendum one of your top priorities in the next coming weeks!
7. Aztec Baseball is ranked 22nd in the nation. Aztec Softball is ranked 20th
in the nation. Please support athletics!
B. Executive Vice President: Jameson reported on the following:
1. ModernSpace Committee met last Friday.
2. Thank you for coming to the BackCourt Bash.
3. Jameson will be going to the Association of College Unions International Conference
in March in New Orleans.
4. Ed SanFilippo is awarded the “slayer” award for his excellent play during Gavelcide. Congratulations
to Paul Klotz for winning the game.
C. Vice President of External Affairs: Jeremy reported on the following:
1. The delegation for DC has already met to start planning and preparing for the trip.
2. Lobby Corps is working on a budget resolution for what is going on, which should
address the student perspective of the budget cuts.
D. Vice President of Finance: Justin reported on the following:
1. Green Love: the new Green Commissioner, Erica Johnson, is also the VP of E3.
2. The organic banner will up in Aztec Center.
3. The new website is: as.sdsu.edu/greenlove

of University Affairs: Mike reported on the following:
1. Eat, sleep, breathe… The enhance, evolve, innovate Referendum!
F. President Pro Tempore: Joy reported on the following:
1. Reminded student organization reps to attend the Student Organization Annual Report
workshop on March 4th at 2:30pm.

XII. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS:
A. Eric Wacenske – College of Sciences Student Council:
1. In support of AIDS treatment and research, American Medical Student Association will
be serving delicious nachos on the Free Speech steps tomorrow – come ‘n get ‘em!
2. Also, our meet and greet for students will be next Wednesday from 2:00-4:00pm, come
out and meet your Sciences faculty and staff!

1. College of Business Career Fair is Monday, March 10, 2008 at Montezuma Hall from

2. ABSC Student Ambassador Breakfast from 8:30-10:00am before the Career Fair.
3. ABSC wants to thank the College of Professional Studies & Fine Arts for hosting
a wonderful event (bowling tournament).

1. Our high school conference for pregnant teens, teen parents and their partners is
Friday, March 7th from 10:00am-3:00pm in Aztec Center.

1. RHA exec elections start March 24th at 4:00pm in the Tula. Intent to bid due

Tabares – Association of Chicana Activists (AChA):
1. AChA (Association of Chicana Activists) will be having a body retreat this Saturday,
March 1st. It is open to anyone who would like to join us. We will be carpooling and meeting at Zura turnaround at 9:00am.
2. AChA’s High School Conference will be held on March 22nd. We will be having
a “Quinceañera” theme for our conference programs to celebrate our 15th annual high school conference.
1. Alpha Pi Sigma will be having a multi-cultural night at 9:00pm in Scripps Cottage on February 28th.
