President James Poet called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m.

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda of September 26, 2007.
AS President James Poet removed Action Item C. Annual Independent Financial Audit & Letter to Management from the agenda.

It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from September 19, 2007.

VI. SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
- Cross-Cultural Center Update & Introductions: Dr. Tanis Starck and fellow staff members discussed a variety of programs and services that promote diversity within the University.
- Aztec Shops Tour-Donna Tusack, CEO and R.D. Williams, Director of Communication and Campus Relations: Donna and R.D. gave a brief introduction of Aztec Shops.

It was moved and seconded to approve the Appointments and Resignations List as attached.

James administered the Oath of Office to Daniel Osztreicher, the new Arts & Letters representative.

- President: James reported on the following:
- We will try to have an IVC Representative come to our meetings once a month. In turn, we will have a representative attend their meetings.
- President’s Cabinet reports have been postponed until next week.
- James will be speaking at Parent’s Weekend this weekend and he welcomes any and all support!
- James is looking to fill the Organizations Representative on President’s Cabinet.
- Everyone looks cute in their composite pictures.
- Executive Vice President: Jameson reported on the following:
- Please sign-up for the Boo! Parade.
- Vice President of External Affairs: Jeremy reported on the following:
- Student Resource Center: come check out the SRC tomorrow, Thursday, September 27, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on the Free Speech Steps. There is an article in today’s Daily Aztec on the SRC.
- EAB: Vice-Chairs were elected on Monday. Congratulations to them. I know they will do a great job. EAB will begin committee work on Monday, October 1, and start the first EAB Alert! of the semester and our lobby efforts for Fix the Fine.
- Fix the Fine: Brochures are now available if any organizations would like to pass them out at their meetings or to any members. Please contact Jeremy to request brochures.
- Vice President of Finance: Justin reported on the following:
- First GreenLOVE committee meeting is Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Quetzalcoatl.
- AS Gives Back: Banner should be up within the next week or so.
- College Councils: Please get your budget allocations in by October 5.
- Vice President of University Affairs: Mike reported on the following:
- Referred to article printed in the Union-Tribune. Co-written by Mike and Erin Steva. Look for a resolution regarding textbooks next week.
- University Senate: Four more seats are available, please see Mike if interested.
- Good Neighbor Program this Thursday! Please let Mike know if you are not able to make your appointment.
- Mike gave a GNP presentation to Peer Health Education class.
- Student Resource Center this Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.!
- President Pro Tempore: Joy reported on the following:
- Joy reminded Council members to fill out an excused absence form if you will be absent from a meeting.
- Please continue participating in extra credit; and do not forget to fill out the extra credit forms, they are available in the GAO.
- Executive Director: Grant referred to Dan’s written report (attached).
- University Senate’s Designee: Dr. Cezar Ornatowski reported on the following.
- Dr. Ornatowski read the resolution regarding football.
- Discussed new procedures for recommending students to Senate and Senate appointed committees.
- University President’s Designee: Tim Rupe reported on the following:
- One reminder for anyone involved in student organizations: Renew your on-campus recognition!
- There are currently 65 individual SDSU teams signed up for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. We would like to form as a contingent prior to the Walk. The event is on Sunday, October 21. There will be a kick-off event on October 20 at Scripps Cottage.

- Delta Zeta information sessions have been well-attended and we are looking forward to their recruitment process. The first new member symposium is on Saturday. We have also started intramural sports.
