I. CALL TO ORDER
President James Poet called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.

III. MODIFICATIONS TO AGENDA
It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda of November 14, 2007.
James stated that Special Recognitions and Presentations Items A and D have been postponed.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from November 7, 2007.

VI. SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
- Public Safety Update: Chief John Browning reminded the Council to be aware when on and near campus. Travel in pairs or groups and refrain from listening to your iPods when walking. There has been an increase in one-on-one thefts of laptops. Chief Browning also reminded the students to put their cars on the top level of the parking structures if they are going to leave them here over the holiday breaks.
- Special Presentation: AS Council member Ed SanFilippo gave a special presentation to the Council to educate them about being transgender.

XI. EXECUTIVE REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
- President: James reported on the following:
- Encourage your student organizations to participate in the Dr. Martin Luther King San Diego Parade on January 19th. There will be a $250
prize to the organization with the most participants.
- The Aztecs will be playing the Fighting Irish next year in football.
- James is still working on bringing PIC together in the new year.
- RSVP for the Council Holiday Party at Dan’s on December 1st at 1 pm.
- The sports lunches are still going-on.
- Thanks to everyone who went to the CSU Board of Trustees meeting today. The Campus Master Plan passed.

- IVC Representative: Yadira Ayon
- IVC hosted a Welcome Back event and Yadira thanked Dan and Aztec Shops for their support of the event.
- The Council postponed their referendum until next year.
- IVC Dean Stephen Roeder hosted a Pancake Breakfast at his home.

- Executive Vice President: Jameson reported on the following:
- Office Space Spring Application Process has begun. Deadline is November 28th, no exceptions. The applications will be delivered to
the Office Space Subcommittee to review after the process closes.
- Starbucks will be coming onto campus after the Thanksgiving break and setting up their Merry Moments Tree in Aztec Center.
- MEChA, WRC, SAA, IFC, and the Business Office were in attendance at the Student Organization Forum. The next forum will take place before
finals and will be heavily advertised through AS and SACL.
- Gavelcide: sixteen people have been gaveled and one person is on the Most Wanted List. Please review the instructions and stay safe
during the game.
- Red click pens, carabineers, and miniature playing cards (all with the AS logo printed on them) are the selected items for winter promotions.
- The interviews for the Aztec Center Scheduling Supervisor position have been postponed to allow for a more diverse applicant pool.

- Vice President of External Affairs: Jeremy reported on the following:
- The Master Plan was approved at today’s Board of Trustee’s meeting.
- The Student Resource Center went very well last Thursday. Contact information from over one-hundred students was collected.
- EAB did not meet on Monday. Meetings next semester will be at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays beginning next semester.
- Please attend the CACC meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the College-Rolando Library. Changes regarding the Residence House Ordinance
will be discussed. There is also a City Council meeting on Monday in Mission Valley that will take action on the changes to the RHO. Please contact
Jeremy if interested in going to either meeting. Lobby Corps and EAB members will be attending both meetings.
- Jeremy is looking to working with local legislators in possibly authoring a piece of legislation to address fee waivers and how they
effect self-sustaining organizations on campuses such as Associated Students.
- The Voter registration and Vote Campaign are still underway. Please make sure to get your organizations to register to vote before the deadline of January 21st (before this semester is over). Please contact Jeremy if you would like “I Will Vote” materials for your organization.
- The Master Plan was approved at today’s Board of Trustee’s meeting.
- Vice President of Finance: Justin had no report.
- Vice President of University Affairs: Mike reported on the following:
- Join CACC tonight.
- GNP rounds tomorrow.
- AP&P on Tuesday voted to approve the Student Affairs Leadership minor.
- The Execs spoke at ASU’s high school conference on Saturday.
- UAB still getting students to fill-out legal services survey.
- Join CACC tonight.
- President Pro Tempore: Joy had no report.
- Executive Director: Paul Klotz referred to the written report (attached).
- University Senate’s Designee: Dr. Cezar Ornatowski reported on the following:
- The Senate is taking up the issue of allowing bikes on campus. They hope to collaborate with AS.
- University President’s Designee: Tim Rupe reported on the following:
- SACL looking into new software for student organizations.
XII. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Katherine Hunt-Women’s Resource Center:
- Love Your Body Day went really well! It was great to see so many of you there!
- Andrew Byrns-International Student Association:
- Come to the 51st Annual Peace Village held in Montezuma Hall tomorrow Thursday, November 15th from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Veronica Vences-USFC:
- Annual Cultural Night on Thursday, November 29, 2007. It will begin at 7 pm and will be held outside on the Aztec Patio.
- Richard Pelayo- AB Samahan:
- The AS Representative for AB Samahan will be open this Friday. Applications will be due on December 3rd at the Samahan office.
- AB Samahan is holding their HS Conference this Saturday. Over 1,000 students are expected to attend.
- Teodoro “Junior” Martinez-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Student Union:
- LGBTRC will be having a Town Hall meeting today at 6:45 to discuss student rights. James Poet and Chief Browning will be a part of the meeting.
- LGBTSU will be holding a candlelight vigil on November 28th at 8 pm on the Free Speech Steps in recognition of World AIDS Day.
- LGBTSU/LGBTRC will be having a “Stop the Hate” rally on December 5th at noon at the Free Speech Steps to voice their opinions on the derogatory terms used in “the Koala.”
- Gina Aldape- APSA:
- We are having an end of the year event to recognize our accomplishments over the semester. There will be awards, food and dancing! “Kinda Sorta Formals” is Saturday, December 1st from 6-11 pm at the International Student Center. Tickets are $20 for individuals and $30 for a couple.
