I. CALL TO ORDER
President Matt Keipper called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL

VI. SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
- 2005/2006 Financial Audit Report (Information) – Tyler Morgan, Vice President of Finance; Sandra Keshka, A.S. Controller; Jeff Altshuler, CPA Partner – A recap of the 2005/2006 Financial Audit Report was given and if members have further questions they should direct them to Tyler.
- Remarks from Donna Tusack, Aztec Shops CEO and Rocky Glines, Aztec Shops Marketing Manager and Aztec Shops Tour – Donna presented information about the organization of Aztec Shops. She is open to any comments regarding student satisfaction of products and services provided by Aztec Shops.

It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations as attached.

- President: Matt reported on the following:
- Don’t forget to RSVP for the University House event on Wednesday, October 11th, after the A.S. Council meeting.
- Sign-up for a lunch or dinner date with Matt Keipper!
- Executive Vice President: Brian reported on the following:
- Boards and committees are practically full, thank you all. Seats that are available – Career Services, EAB, Graduate board, HCRAB, SHAB, and UAB.
- Make sure you are attending the boards and committees you are sitting on.
- Red and Black games:
Thursday, September 21st, 2006 at 7:00PM – Volleyball vs. BYU
Saturday, September 23rd, 2006 at 5:00PM – Football vs. Utah - Thanks to all of those who attended the Expansion meeting. Looking forward for the next meeting, and make sure you take the ModernSpace Webportal survey.
- Vice President of External Affairs: Khouloud reported on the following:
- CSSA Fullerton: Secretary of State, Bruce McPherson spoke about voter registration. We voted to support Prop 1D.
- Vice President of Finance: Tyler reported on the following:
- Sign-up for the A.S. Softball Team. First game is next week. (Jen will be keeping stats!)
- Mandatory organization meeting: October 20th, 2006 at 1:00PM & 4:00PM and October 27th, 2006 at 1:00PM & 4:00PM in Calmecac.
- This weeks Finance Board meeting consisted of an orientation, providing its members with information and financial reports.
- Vice President of University Affairs: John reported on the following:
- The meeting with Council member Jim Madaffer and several San Diego community residents went as well as could be expected.
- Sign-up for the Good Neighbor Program!
- President Pro Tempore: Garrett reported on the following:
- Requirements are due September 22 at 4pm! Don’t delay!
- Executive Director: John Kolek deferred to Tristan Osborn to review Dan Cornthwaite’s written report (attached).
- University Senate’s Designee: Dr. Cezar Ornatowski had no report.
- University President’s Designee: Dr. Darlene Willis reported on the following:
- Student Academic Success Center is opening up. Student leaders are welcome.
- Orientation meetings for student org. recognition will be held twice a month to accommodate more student organizations.
XII. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Jameson DeSantis – InterFraternity Council:
- Recruitment is going on.
- IFC has had a record number in House Tours – over 330 guys!
- “Jackass 2” premiere this past Sunday maxed out Montezuma Hall.
- Crystal Brandán – LGBTSU:
- “Divas Night Out,” this Saturday in the Backroom at 6:00pm (Dragshow).
- Kristen Gozawa – College of Arts and Letters:
- CAL Council issued an email to all student organizations falling under the College of Arts and Letters to remind them about our meeting times and ways to obtain funding. We received many responses.
- CAL is stressing the importance of student organizations being in attendance at all meetings if they want to receive funding.
- Our new CAL office is in the Arts and Letters building, Room 382.
- The Arts and Letters Gala is on October 3rd, 2006.
- Mike Roberts – CASE Board:
- CASE had a great turn-out at our Monday meeting, more than doubling what we had the previous week.
- We have our first Open-Mic Night tonight after Council, if you want some free entertainment.
- Jeremy Katz – Residence Hall Association:
- We had our first council meeting on Monday, and it was a success. We are in the preliminary stages of planning our first resident-wide event for early October.
- Arlene Hady – College of Health and Human Services:
- We are looking for a College Council president. Do you know someone who is interested? Email arlenehady@gmail.com.
- CA Nursing Student Association will be participating in the Making Strides Against breast Cancer Walk on October 22nd, 2006 at 8:00AM in Balboa Park. Please join in the FUN!
- Rebecca Steinberger – Jewish Student Union:
- This Friday, September 22nd beings Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Tonight at 7:00pm in Hillel, there will be a pre-celebration of Rosh Hashanah; there will be caramel apples since apples are symbolic of a sweet new year.
- Eric Wacenske – College of Sciences:
- College of Sciences Student Council voted Jeremy Ehrlich as our third representative to Associated Students.
- The Student Health Advisory Board has its second meeting this Monday, September 25th at 4:00PM.
- Alex Delino – Asian Pacific Student Alliance:
- Our meeting was awesome! We are hopefully switching rooms soon to accommodate for the overcrowding. We are having our next meeting on Tuesday in Calmecac at 12:30PM. You don’t have to be Asian to attend!!!
- Michelle Adams – Professional Studies and Fine Arts:
- Meetings are Wednesdays at 1:00PM in PSFA 200.
