I. CALL TO ORDER
President Chris Manigault called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL

III. MODIFICATIONS TO AGENDA
It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda of March 1, 2006, with the addition of VIII. Items for Consideration, Item C. Proposed SDSU Children’s Center Department of Education Uniform Complaint Procedure.

It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from February 15, 2006.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT
David Flores - David passed out flyers regarding the Hyatt Hotel protest tomorrow. He asked Council members to join him. The will be leaving from the Zura turnaround at 4pm.
VI. SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
Chief John Browning, University Police, Public Safety Update - Chief Browning reported that nothing eventful had occurred over the last week. He did say that many people used the trolley to go to various Mardi Gras celebrations.

XI. EXECUTIVE REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
- President: Chris reported on the following:
- President Weber’s Diversity Gala is this weekend.
- CHESS conference is this weekend.
- Chris will give Paseo updates at future meetings. As of right now, the project has not progressed.
- President’s Cabinet is planning a Culture Week
- Executive Vice President: Kristi reported on the following:
- Office space applications are due on March 30, at 4pm.
- Graduating Seniors will be presenting at the Aztec Achievement Awards
- Vice President of External Affairs: LaToya referred to her written report.
- Vice President of Finance: Matt reported on the following:
- He asked non-managed programs to please turn in their budgets
- Vice President of University Affairs: Dennis reported on the following:
- Please sign up for the Good Neighbor Program.
- He will present the General Education Survey at the next Senate meeting.
- Please participate in the letter writing campaign for the Mission Bay Aquatic Center
- President Pro Tempore: Michelle reported on the following:
- Bylaw Amendments are due on March 8th.
- Annual reports are due from organizations by April 13.
- The second portion of requirements are due on April 14
- Executive Director: Dan referred to his written report (attached).
- University Senate’s Designee: Dr. David Ely reported the following:
- The Senate is forming a sub-committee regarding Academic Freedom.
- University President’s Designee: Dr. Darlene Willis reported on the following:
- The Cross Cultural Center is now open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 6pm, and will be open until 7pm on Wednesday.
- The on campus recognition process for clubs and organizations has begun.
- We received around 50 applications for Quest for the Best.
- Members from the Center for Community Based Service Learning Advisory Board will be leaving on March 11 to participate in a Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
- Today is Super Services Wednesday. Please utilize the services that are available.
- The Student Academic Success Center is now open for tutoring
- Referendum Marketing Committee Chair: Joaquin referred to his written report (attached).
XII. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Karleen Thomas- Education:
- Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 8, from 1-2pm in Aztlan, Lower Aztec Center.
- This weekend two of our council members will attend a California Teachers Association (CTA) Conference in Newport Beach. This conference will deal with Equality and Humans Rights Issues
- Joanna Schaefer-CAL Council:
- Meeting on Monday at 12pm in Lower Aztec Center! Be there!
- Andrew Roy-IFC:
- Lambda Chi Alpha is holding a “Fashion for a Cause” event, next Thursday, March 9. Tickets are $7 and are available at the ticket office. Proceeds will be donated to Children’s Hospital.
- IFC will hold elections next week.
- Crystal Brandán-LGBTSU:
- STI/HIV/AIDS Prevention Presentation tonight! We will have a speaker informing us how to be safe!
- Amanda Venegas- Panhellenic Association:
- Get excited for Safe Spring Break Week, sponsored by GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol).
- Michelle Halimi-Jewish Student Union:
- Mitzvah Day is this Sunday. Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Beach Clean-Up, and much more! This is an all day Community Service event. Please email Michelle for more info!
- Velma Calvario- N.A.S.A.:
- On April 15 and 16 N.A.S.A. will hold their annual Pow Wow on Centennial Walkway.
- David Flores- M.E.Ch.A.:
- Meetings are on 3:30, Tuesdays in Adams Humanities 2108.
- Hyatt mass rally is on Thursday at 5.
