President Chris Manigault called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda of April 5, 2006.

It was moved and seconded to move the #CB S06-03 Resolution in Support of AB 2813 to an information item under X. Introduction of New Legislative Items.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from March 29, 2006.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT
- Ally Estey, Homecoming Queen - Ally invited Council representatives and their organizations to participate in Extreme Four Square: Bouncing for Books, a philanthropy to benefit San Diego City Schools.
- Josh Parolin - Josh spoke briefly about the Invisible Children Campain. There will be various film screenings on campus, and a “Global Night Commute” on April 29.

- President: Chris reported on the following:
- The Provost’s Review is upcoming. Please provide accurate and detailed feedback.
- There will be two President’s Council meetings this Tuesday at 10am and 7pm.
- There will be an upcoming meeting regarding AS oversight of the Cross Cultural Center.
- Executive Vice President: Kristi reported the following:
- There were 41 office space applications although some organizations have yet to attend an orientation.
- Kristi asked the Awards Subcommittee to pick up packets for the Aztec Achievement Awards.
- Please submit photos for the slide show at the Aztec Achievement Awards.
- Vice President of External Affairs: LaToya had no report.
- Vice President of Finance: Matt reported the following:
- Finance Board deliberations will take place next Friday.
- Hearings will take place next week, A.Ch.A., and AB Samahan still need to schedule hearings.
- Vice President of University Affairs: Dennis reported the following:
- Dennis attended the Capital Campaign and he will make a presentation to Council either next week or the week after.
- President Pro Tempore: Michelle reported on the following:
- Annual reports are due from organizations by April 13 at 4pm
- Cultural programming requirements are due on April 14 at 4pm.
- Executive Director: Dan referred to his written report (attached).
- University Senate’s Designee: Dr. David Ely reported the following:
- The Senate will meet next week.
- There is a CFAC meeting on Friday.
XII. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Velma Calvario- NASA:
- The 35th Annual SDSU Contest Pow Wow will be held April 15-16, outdoors along the Campanile Walkway, and admission is free. Volunteers are needed for both days. Contact Velma for more info.
- Lindsay Stout-RHA:
- There will be two blood drives next week. On April 11, from 12-5:30pm at the Tula, and on April 12, from 12-5:30 at the Cholula.
- Check out the Invisible Children’s website! www.invisiblechildren.com.
- David Flores-M.E.Ch.A.:
- Zapata March on Saturday April 8!
- Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 3:30 in Adams Humanities 2801.
- Crystal Brandán-LGBTSU:
- The Big Gay BBQ is today from 5:30-8:30pm at Scripps Cottage.
- Our next meeting is April 12, at 7pm in Calmecac.
- Ben Fisher- International Student Center:
- There is a Coffee Hour this Friday in the ISC at 12pm, a meeting will follow at 2pm.
- Lydia Herzog-APSA:
- Next Friday, April 14, is APSA’s Fashion Talent Show in Montezuma Hall! Doors open at 6:30 and it starts at 7pm! Please Come! We hope to see you all there!
