A.S. Council

The AS Council is the highest decision making-organization within the student government. SDSU students, in the spring, elect the council members.

Also elected in the Spring are the five executive officers: President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of External Affairs, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President of University Affairs.

Being active in student government provides leadership opportunities that translate into life-long learning and career experiences. You'll learn to build a consensus, negotiate and make important decisions that affect all students at SDSU.

The backbone of our student government is the network of AS Boards and Committees, which offer great opportunities to become active members of the student community.

Other important facets of the AS are the seven College Councils and the student clubs that make up each College Council. Representatives from 13 student cultural, social, and academic organizations also hold seats on council. AS is represented in four Advisory Boards that work closely with Student Affairs at SDSU to expand and improve student services. The University Senate consisting of faculty, staff and student representatives also influences SDSU policy.
