I. |
PURPOSE
Review and make recommendations to encourage and promote the Center's
goals, to assist in communicating the goals and activities of the Center
to the campus community, to present student concerns and assist in
identifying trends which are critical to Center functioning and to
develop and implement projects designed to further the Center's mission. |
II. |
MEMBERSHIP
Five Student-at-Large members shall be appointed by the third week
of the Fall Semester to serve for a period of one year.
One Associated Students Councilmember shall be appointed by the third
week of the Fall Semester to serve for a period of one year.
The board shall have the following ex-officio voting and non-voting
members.
- Ex-Officio Voting:
- The Associated Students President or designee.
- The Associated Students Executive Vice President or designee.
- The Associated Students Vice President of External Affairs or
designee.
- The Associated Students Vice President of Finance or designee.
- The Associated Students Vice President of University Affairs
or designee.
- Ex-Officio Non-Voting:
- The University Provost or designee.
- The Executive Director of Enrollment Services or designee.
- The Director of Office of Advising & Evaluations or designee.
- The Associated Students Executive Director or designee.

MEETINGS
- Officers
- The Chair of the Board shall be a student-at-large voting member
who shall be elected by the Board subsequent to the Spring A.S.
General Elections. The Chair shall serve for a period of one year
and is responsible for notifying the A.S. Council of any vacancy.
- The Vice Chair of the Board shall be a student-at-large voting
member who shall be elected by the Board subsequent to the Spring
A.S. General Elections. The Vice Chair shall serve as the Board
Chair in the absence of the Chair. In the case of vacancy, the Vice
Chair shall serve as Chair for the remainder of the term.
- Quorum and Attendance
- A quorum shall consist of more than half of the filled appointed
seats.
- Removal from the Board may result if a member has five (5) absences
in a semester, three (3) unexcused absences in a semester, or two
(2) consecutive unexcused absences in a semester. Excused absences
may only be granted by the Chair or by two-thirds (2/3) of the Board.
Arriving fifteen (15) minutes after the meeting was called to order
constitutes tardiness. Tardiness to two (2) meetings equals one
(1) unexcused absence.
- Minutes & Frequency
- The Chair shall designate a Secretary to record minutes of each
meeting. All minutes shall be submitted to the A.S. Council for
final approval.
- The Board shall hold regular meetings at least once a month and
shall notify the public of its meeting time and place at the beginning
of each semester.

IV. |
JURISDICTION
- The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity and may propose,
plan, and jointly facilitate programs, which promote the purpose of
the Board and the Advising & Evaluations Center.
- The Board shall advise on the expenditure of Associated Students
funds and shall appoint committees and committee chairpersons to assume
designated responsibilities.
- The Board shall serve as the Associated Students representative
to the Academic Advising Center.
- The Board may review and make recommendations regarding any matter
related to the Academic Advising Center.

CHARTER AMENDMENTS AND REVISIONS
- The Charter may be amended or revised by a two-thirds (2/3) vote
of the Associated Students Council, as specified in Sections 62 and
63 of the Associated Students By laws.
- All proposed amendments or revisions shall be reviewed by the Board
and the Rules Committee prior to consideration by the Associated Students
Council.
